BETHEL TWP. — On Saturday, May 13, six students from Bethel School District went to state science fair held at the fieldhouse on The Ohio State University campus in Columbus.

Of the five projects sent from Bethel, 2 received superiors. The superiors went to Alaina Yarwick, who researched the effectiveness of soap and the team of Allison Cartwright and Julie Sebastian who researched candy lettering.

In 2015, one student attended; in 2016, three students attended. This is Yarwick’s second year attending state science fair and Sebastian’s third year attending state science fair. To be eligible for state science fair, students have to receive a superior rating at both county and district science fairs.

Both Bethel and Tipp students presented their research and findings at the Tipp Rotary meeting on Wednesday, May 17.
